Christmas Prayers 2025

Christmas Prayers

by Don Chapman

If you’re anything like me, public prayer during worship can be stressful. I don’t have that “gift of gab” where eloquent, meaningful words flow effortlessly. You know those people who can pray deep, beautiful prayers at the drop of a hat? I’m not one of them. I have to think things through and practice before I speak publicly!

And the Christmas season? The pressure is even greater. There’s something about those services packed with visitors, in-laws and once-a-year attendees that makes getting the prayer exactly right feel critical.

That’s why I’m now providing pre-written prayers for all the Christmas Underscores at Worshipscores, including favorites like “Joy to the World (Unspeakable Joy)” (Tomlin), “Light Of The World” (Lauren Daigle), “What a Glorious Night” (Sidewalk Prophets) and many more.

Each Christmas underscore has three prayer options so you can choose the one that fits your moment best.

Use them word-for-word if you’d like. Put the text on screen so your congregation can pray along silently or in unison. Or perhaps use them as a way to organize your thoughts and create your own prayer in your own words.

The pressure to find the right words on the spot can be overwhelming, and pre-written prayers remove that stress so you can focus on the meaning behind the words rather than scrambling to phrase them.

And don’t forget the people on your praise team who might not have the confidence to pray publicly. This could be a way to help them get started!

Christmas is demanding enough without worrying about what to pray during your underscore moments. Check out the new Christmas prayers here at Worshipscores and take one thing off your plate this season.
